Live Your Life Pain Free With Integrated Positional Therapy (IPT)

Integrated positional therapy (IPT) is an extremely effective program of recovery that provides long-lasting results from acute and chronic pain. This therapy was created by Lee Albert, who is a nationally-recognized expert in neuromuscular pain relief. It’s been highly effective for giving relief to anything from plantar fasciitis to fibromyalgia.

IPT has 3 basic core principles:

  1. The Root Cause Of Your Pain Must Be Identified

Where you feel pain is not necessarily (and not likely) where it’s actually coming from. For example, If a person is experiencing pain in between their shoulder blades, it could be stemming from tightness in your pectoral muscles.

  1. The Muscle Imbalances Must Be Treated

A vast majority of pain stems from muscles being imbalanced. Muscle imbalances happen when one side becomes tight and short, over-stretching the other side. This makes it become weak, and causes other muscles to compensate for that weakness. When the muscular system is brought back into balance, it can relax, bringing pain relief along with it.

  1. The Muscles Must Be Trained To Stay In Balance

This part of the treatment plan is crucial for the long-lasting effects. This means that you as the client must play an active role in your progression as your body heals. This involves daily exercises of stretching, slackening, and strengthening your muscles.

Some clients have been known to experience immediate relief in their pain but it can take 6-8 weeks for your body to get back into balance. To achieve faster results in your healing process, some lifestyle changes may need to happen, like increasing your water intake, adjusting your driving position, and adjusting the way you sit in a chair. These simple, yet important changes in your lifestyle can make a significant impact the wellbeing of your life.
